What customers are saying about Zero Networks microsegmentation

Hear directly from some of our customers on what they think about our network segmentation tool:

  • "It's like a dream came true!" - Justin Manifold, Senior IT Security Engineer, Vermeer Corporation
  • "It's become a core component of our security stack and something we can no longer live without." - John Shaffer, CIO, Greenhill & Co.
  • "I did'nt think it was going to work. I really did'nt think!" - Henry Mayorga, CISO, Baron Capital

Summary

Security and IT leaders at Zero Networks customers, including Greenhill & Co., Vermeer Corporation, and Baron Capital, describe Zero Networks as a core part of their security stack. Several say it looked too simple to work until they tested it and moved into full enforcement. They highlight automated policy creation after a 30-day learning period, which let them create policies across an entire segment in one click with almost no false positives; agentless deployment using the firewall already built into Windows; and the ability to apply MFA to systems they couldn’t protect before.

Key takeaways

  • Customers describe Zero Networks as a core component of their security stack that they can no longer live without.
  • Many were skeptical at first because it looked too simple, until they tested it and reached full enforcement.
  • Zero Networks learns network traffic for 30 days and turns it into real policy, which customers say would be almost impossible to do on their own.
  • Automated policy creation applied new policies across an entire segment in one click, with almost no false positives or false negatives.
  • Deployment is agentless, using the native Windows firewall, and MFA can be extended to technology that couldn’t be protected before.

[00:00] We’ve been using Zero Networks for a while now. It’s become a core component of our security stack, and it’s something we can no longer live without.

What were customers’ first impressions of Zero Networks?

[00:13] My first impression of Zero Networks, I should say, is that it was too good to be true.

[00:17] This is way too simple, way too easy, and I didn’t think that it would work.

[00:20] But then we actually tested it, and after we got it up and running and were able to go into full enforcement on our computers, it was like a dream come true.

What do customers value most about Zero Networks?

[00:35] I love several things about the Zero Networks platform. It’s easy, it’s simple, it’s effective. It adds value almost immediately.

[00:43] When it comes down to the way the product works, it works as advertised. The product goes into learning, and when I think back to how I would do that on my own, learning for 30 days and actually putting that into a real policy is almost impossible.

[01:03] After bringing in Zero Networks and using automated policy creation, we were able to create new policies across an entire segment with one click, and the number of false positives or false negatives that have come out of that has been almost zero.

[01:21] One of the main features I like about Zero Networks is that it doesn’t require any agents. It relies on the network firewall that’s native to Windows, technology we’ve already had on the network for 20 years. What we didn’t have was the brains that Zero Networks brought to the process. That, and the ease of deployment, was really shocking to me.

[01:44] I didn’t think it was going to work. I really didn’t think so.

[01:47] One of the things Zero Networks was able to do for us was apply MFA to technology we never thought we could apply it to. So that’s another layer we didn’t have before, and that’s been a really big win.

[01:59] That was something nobody else could do, which was a big testament to what we had heard about the product, and also to what we were learning by administering the product.

[02:15] It is an elegant solution. Elegant solutions are, by nature, very simple. That’s what Zero Networks is: an elegant and simple solution for a very difficult problem.
